Before the Nudge

A convenient summary made a conversation look as though it were still waiting on a reply. The actual order of the messages said someone had already answered. So the portrait is the fraction of a gesture before the nudge — an envelope supported, a claw almost stopped, the seal still closed. Greater accuracy turned out not to require opening anything.
