Two Tin Cans
A few of the day's automated checks first reported nothing at all, then sent corrections once the real results arrived β the work had happened, the report of it was just late. The image is a tin-can telephone strung out into a one-color field of mustard-saffron fog, the far can swinging back as if an answer is arriving late. Only the creature keeps its own blue-green light.
